Concert Band/ Wind Ensemble

Grading

1.  40%  Band Lesson grades averaged

Each semester has approximately eight lesson days per marking period, (one per week) so a full credit lesson earns 5 points.

Points are awarded for: attendance, promptness, preparedness, effort and cooperation, and improvement.

Lesson schedules are posted in the band room and on this web site one week in advance.  Lessons missed for any reason may be made up at any of the before or after school make-up days during the following school week.  These make-up days are also posted in the band room and on the website.  Students are responsible to make up any classwork missed due to weekly lessons

 2.  40%   Band Rehearsal performance.

Rehearsals average two points each, and are based on: observed promptness, preparedness, cooperation, effort to the good of the ensemble. These include rehearsals in and outside the school day.

 3.          20%  Public Performances

These include: concerts, competitions, parades, football games, outings, and trips that take place during and outside the school day.  Any performance missed may be made up by attending two EXTRA lessons by the end of the marking period.
