Lesson Schedule

Students report directly to the Band Room for band lessons and are to be responsible for acquiring and making up any missed class work.

MAKE-UP   All in school Make up Lessons need to be scheduled individually with the teacher.  Mrs. Wiehl methodically schedules each lesson to minimize missing other classes - make every attempt to attend your scheduled lessons. Typically two make up lessons are offered each week; before and after school.

Excused absences due to illness, snow days and field trips do not count against your grade.. but  every lesson you make will directly effect your ability to master your instrument.  You are encouraged to make up excused absence!

PRACTICE: Band students are recommended to practice a half hour each night, five times weekly for a total of 2 ½ hours each week.

Responsibility: Band students are encouraged to take their instruments home daily to practice. The district is not responsible for damage or theft of instruments left in school.  You are expected to bring your instrument to every rehearsal.  As part of your grade Mrs. Wiehl records your preparedness for all lessons, this includes music and instrument accessories.  Taking care of your instrument is beneficial for your success in the RFA Band Program and in your ability to perform well.  From time to time instruments need some adjustment. Besides following all the instrument care procedures , visually inspect your instrument for loose or worn parts.  Have Mrs. Wiehl check  your instrument if in doubt ,some times it may be a small adjustment she can make during a lesson.  If your instrument is out for repair please bring in a note.   If you need an accessory, plan ahead before your performance or lesson. Mrs. Wiehl has some supplies on hand.  band accessories List Still don't count on her having drum sticks or a reed for you the day of the concert.
